Who We Serve
Saint Joseph Ballet serves low-income youth and families living in Santa Ana, California and surrounding communities.
Youth and Families
· Youth ages 9-19 years old attend Saint Joseph Ballet
· Ninety-six percent are from low-income families
· Ninety-seven percent represent Latino, African-American, Asian and Multi-ethnic
communities
· A typical SJB student comes from a family of five living on $2,759 a month
Community
· SJB’S DanceFree Weeks Community Outreach Program reaches 2,500 to 3,000 4th - 8th grade students each year in approximately 23 local area schools
· The Annual Concert at the Irvine Barclay Theatre reaches an audience of over 3,000, including several hundred youth and families served by many other nonprofits in Orange County
· On-site Residency Programs provide opportunities for community youth and families to experience professional dancers performing in an informal, intimate setting
Alumni
· During college, alumni continue to receive mentoring and guidance from staff, older alumni and community volunteers.
· All students who participate with Saint Joseph Ballet through high school and graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA are eligible to receive scholarship support from Saint Joseph Ballet.
