Academic & Family Programs
At Saint Joseph Ballet, a broad range of programs combined with ongoing mentoring by a dedicated staff, empower at-risk youth and their parents to, by their own initiative, hurdle the obstacles of poverty.
College Scholarships: Seeking to motivate low income youth to tackle the socio-economic barriers to a higher education, Saint Joseph Ballet promises its graduates a college scholarship.
College Prep Programs: College prep programs serve approximately 200 7th - 12th graders each year and includes college campus tours, SAT prep, financial aid counseling, and individual mentoring on college selection and application.
Tutoring and Computer Lab: Students are matched with volunteer tutors to receive homework assistance in Saint Joseph Ballet's on site Betty Hutton Education Center. Also available to students to use for homework, research and special projects are 15 computers with internet access.
Family Programs: Through educational workshops, seminars, and partnerships with other community resources, Saint Joseph Ballet promotes healthy, supportive relationships between its students and their parents.
Student Leadership and Enrichment: The Student Leadership Council gives students a space to declare, believe, take action and succeed, and enables students to act as catalysts for improving their own community. Enrichment programs combine with Saint Joseph Ballet's dance and academic services to offer students a new expanse of emotional, intellectual and spiritual challenge, beyond the ken of their urban neighborhoods.
