Family Services

 

Through educational workshops and seminars, and partnerships with other community resources, The Wooden Floor promotes healthy, supportive relationships between its students and their parents, and provides parents with an opportunity to be a significant part of their child’s growth and development. 

 

Organizations partnering with The Wooden Floor include Santa Ana Unified School District, Garden Grove Unified, Tustin Unified School District, Orange County Dept. of Education, University of California Irvine, Chapman University, California State University Fullerton,Concordia University, University of Redlands, Sage Hill School, The Ocean Institute, The Lincoln Institute, Catholic Charities, Latino Health Access, OC Children and Family Services, O.C. Red Cross, United Way- Keeping Kids on Track, O.C. Department of Education, Orange County Childrens Therapeutic Art Center, Campfire USA, Girls Inc., Planned Parenthood, Leadership Institute for Teens, Junior League, Back Bay Rowing Club, Anaheim Equestrian Center, Zonta Club, Human Options, Mary Ellen Glaser, Center for Non-Profit Management, Toys for Tots, Snyder Langston Engineering, St. Joseph Health Systems, Boeing Corp., Raytheon Corp., DoubleTree Hotels, O.C. Parents support their children at The Wooden Floor through volunteerism, education and accessing resources for their family’s health and safety.  All parents are expected to attend one educational seminar and volunteer at least 5 hours annually. 

 

Additionally, parents help raise funds through participation in a special community event each fall and by selling tickets to The Wooden Floor's Annual Concert. 

 

Annual Resource Fair  Children’s Hospital of Orange, Legal Aid Society, Human Options, the Santa Ana Police Department and many other local community agencies spend an afternoon at The Wooden Floor, offering education and community support.  Parents learn about resources & training for developing the health, safety & education of their families. 

Counseling Referrals and Crisis Intervention  Almost one- third of The Wooden Floor families accept referrals for social and health services, job training, free bus passes, as well as for counseling on personal or family concerns – like domestic violence – or other urgent issues.

The Wooden Floor offers assistance to all our families through our Family Services Program.  If you have a special need please let us know how we can help, we have a wealth of resources to assist you such as:

    • Community referrals   
• Crisis Intervention/Walk-in counseling
• On-going family and individual counseling
• Parent/adolescent conflicts
• Loss/Grief/Bereavement
