Ramon Banda has become one of the most respected and in demand drummer/percussionists today. Ramon's versatility has allowed him to perform and/or record with many legends of jazz and latin music such as Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Cal Tjader, Freddie Hubbard, Carmen McRae, Mongo Santamaria, Celia Cruz, Eddie Harris, Al McKibbon, and The Jazz Crusaders. He has played on several Grammy award winning recordings, numerous movie soundtracks, and taught at the Thelonius Monk Institute in Aspen Colorado.
Haroutune Bedelian enjoys a varied career as a performer, teacher, and lecturer and has performed to outstanding critical acclaim throughout the world. An avid supporter of new music, Haroutune performed the world premiere of Aroutiunian’s Violin Sonata in Paris, gave the Dutch premiere of Schnitke’s Preludium in Memory of Dmitri Shostakovich for violin and tape, the first British performance of the Alan Hovhaness’ Second Violin Concerto at the Oxford Music Festival, and the New York premiere of Thea Musgrave’s Coloque.
The Irvine Masterworks Chorale has performed a wide variety of concerts at home and abroad, touring throughout the U.S. as well as Europe and South America. Past performances include Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Los Angeles premiere of On Gold Mountain by Nathan Wing, Mahler’s Eighth Symphony at the Crystal Cathedral, and the Mozart Mass in C-Minor in Hawaii.
Gregory Jones composes and performs at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Los Angeles. Greg has recorded with the Los Angeles Mass Choir, the Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, and the Gregory Jones Ministry.
Geoffrey Keezer has performed with Art Blakey, Ray Brown, T.S. Monk, and with opera singer Barbar Hendricks. He’s composed for the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego. His 1998 CD, Turn Up the Quiet, featured Diana Krall, Joshua Redman, and Christian McBride.
Mariachi Voz de America have accompanied numerous international recording artists and represented the City of Los Angeles in a two week tour of Mexico for the annual Encuentro del Mariachi International Festival.
Aaron Novik has been composing and performing in San Francisco for nine years. He currently has two musical groups, Floating World and 12tonedeathrow, and performs with the bass clarinet quartet Edmund Welles and singer Andre Karpov.
The Orange County Women’s Chorus performs the best in women’s choral music, from Hildegard of Bingen to vocal jazz. Eliza Rubenstein has been the OCWC’s Artistic Director since 2000. OCWC presents two major concert programs annually.
Luis Perez Ixoneztli first performed with The Wooden Floor in 1993, and composed By Being Who I Am in 1997. As an ethnomusicologist he lectures on Mesoamerican musical artifacts for the UCLA Department of Musicology.
Alan Terricciano is an associate professor at the University of California, Irvine and serves as chair of the dance department and co-chair of the music department. He has worked with Donald McKayle, Colin Connor, Jeff Slayton, Gus Solomons, Liz Lerman, Douglas Nielsen, and at the American Dance Festival.
