Alumni Supplemental Aid Program
The Supplemental Aid Program is intended to provide financial assistance to Saint Joseph Ballet graduates pursuing higher education and who, through no fault of their own, face a strenuous and/or unexpected financial need. Students applying for the Supplemental Aid Program may request an amount of $500 - $5,000 to help them cover their educational expenses. In order to be considered for this program student must meet the requirements and follow each of the application steps described below. Please note that funding is not always guaranteed, applicants may reapply twice a year, and decisions on funding requests are made on an individual basis.
Application Process
All students must complete the Saint Joseph Ballet Supplemental Aid Program Application thoroughly and truthfully and submit it to the Academic Coordinator by clicking here. Each scholarship application is reviewed by the Saint Joseph Ballet Scholarship Committee, composed of Saint Joseph Ballet staff, Board Members and volunteers. Eligibility Requirements
- Students must be current Saint Joseph Ballet high school seniors or alumni pursuing higher education at an accredited community college, four-year college or university, or trade school
- Students over 25 years old will not be considered for this award unless there are unique circumstances
- All applicants must have completed at least their last four years of high school with Saint Joseph Ballet and must have graduated from the program in good standing
- Students applying for scholarships are required to submit a one page typed essay explaining their situation and how the scholarship will help them attain their degree
- If in college, students must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
- Students are required to schedule at least ONE phone or in-house coaching session with the Academic Coordinator prior to final scholarship deadline
- Submit a copy of your financial aid award letter
- Submit a copy of most recent transcript
Allowable Requests
The Saint Joseph Ballet Supplemental Aid Program may be used to cover any of the following educational expenses:
· Tuition
· Room and board
· Books and supplies
· Living expenses
Guidelines
This program is intended to provide financial assistance to students who are serious about pursing higher education. Consequently, aid recipients must meet the following guidelines in order to receive or renew their aid. Additionally, aid recipients may be called on to provide additional documentation, participate in Saint Joseph Ballet events, and/or mentor current Saint Joseph Ballet students.
· Students attending a four-year college/university or community college must:
o Provide proof of full-time enrollment status
o Provide copies of each semester/quarter grades
o Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
· Students attending a trade school or vocational program must:
o Provide proof of grades and/or course completion at the end of each period or cycle
o Successfully complete all coursework in time designated by the program
Please be aware that failure to comply with these requirements may result in the discontinuation of funding assistance.
Please be aware that a small committee of 3-6 people formed by the Saint Joseph Board of Directors, Executive and Artistic Director, Program Director and Academic Coordinator will be reviewing your application and the information will be kept confidential. |
