Melanie Ríos combines youthful humor, formal choreographic concerns, and movement motifs created by the youth. They are set rolling and running as if in a wide open green grass field of space. Ríos lets kids be kids, where wheelbarrow races, somersaults, and flip-happy bare feet express an unbridled energy.  The kids play to a collage of pieces by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona.
