By leaps and bounds, rolls, a few falls, much sweat, and approximately 450 hours of rehearsal time, the curtain will rise this June on two decades of dancers who have known Saint Joseph Ballet as a “second home”.
Join Saint Joseph Ballet for its 23rd annual concert at the Irvine Barclay Theatre and revel in the generations Saint Joseph Ballet moves forward by leaps and bounds.
Nami Yamamoto exposes a poignant beauty through her kind and often humorous perception of humanity in her new work, a howling flower bloomed in my eye. Her first premiere for Saint Joseph Ballet is as rigorous as it is searching.
Mark Haim explores his belief that true happiness is found in the simplest of things. The breeze of the dancer’s running reaches the audience in the reprise of Presence, a glorious work created in 2004, with an original collage score by Alan Terricciano.
Melanie Ríos Glaser discovers the unbridled and magnificent energy of kids being kids in All Heaven Broke Loose. Watch closely as more than one hundred younger dancers appear from underneath the curtain in this re-staging of a work created in 2000.
Collaboration and sharing shaped by leaps and bounds, a premiere by Rios Glaser for the newly formed Alumni Dance Company.
